The challenge
Years parked outdoors in Texas sun had oxidised the horizontal panels to a chalky haze. Two body shops had quoted a respray of bonnet, roof and boot — over $3,000 — before the owner asked for our opinion.
Work performed
Paint readings first: plenty of clear coat remained. Heavy decon, then a single-stage correction calibrated to remove oxidation while preserving maximum clear coat, finished with a 12-month sealant and trim restoration.
The result
Oxidation fully removed, gloss readings tripled on the bonnet, and the respray cancelled. Total cost under a fifth of the repaint quote — with original paint preserved.
